Traditional Cheesemaking in the Alps: An Authentic Demonstration & Tasting

Our day begins at a historical 17th-century mountain chalet. Here, you will witness the captivating art of cheesemaking over a wood fire. Feel the warmth of the copper vats and learn how local artisans transform fresh mountain milk into the world-renowned Gruyère AOP. After the demonstration, we will enjoy a curated tasting of various cheeses, awakening your palate for the lunch to follow. For lunch, we remain within the rustic charm of the chalet. The local restaurant offers a menu steeped in tradition—from creamy fondues to the famous soupe de chalet. It is a moment to relax and savor the aesthetic of Swiss alpine life in a truly authentic setting.

Should you wish to reach the clouds, we can extend our journey with a modern funicular ride to the summit at 2,000 meters. From this vantage point, the horizon opens up to reveal the Lake Geneva region, the Jura mountains, and the distant, glistening peaks of the Mont Blanc massif—a breathtaking backdrop for photos and reflection.

Alpine Adventure for All Ages For those seeking a touch of adrenaline before we depart, the mountain's famous toboggan (bob-luge) race can be added to your afternoon. It is a playful thrill that both children and adults will remember long after the tour ends, offering a spirited descent back through the mountain air.

Thank you for your prompt responses, for the flexibility and individual approach to the request. I didn´t attend the excursion by myself, my task was to find a guide for my colleagues who had a business trip to Lausanne. Anna took on communication with them and my colleagues were absolutely satisfied. Thanks again!

Anna was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable, kind and fun. She took the time to listen to what we wanted to see and do on our tour and worked to make it happen. We loved the cheese shop she took us to, and learning all about the history of the city.
